Brief River Description
Narrow, bouldery, several 1.5m drops and one of 6m.
Directions to the Put-in
Very top end of Slaheny valley. From Kilgarvan go up past the Roughty take out, up past motor museum and keep going. After tunnel look for a sign for a self catering cottage. This is the take out. Plenty parking here- not much at put in.
Directions to the Take-out
Drive to top of valley.
- When you see a large stream entering from other side of valley above a massive waterfall find the next gate on left.
This is the put in.
- Take out is first bridge.
- 10 min steep walk to road
River Description
Get in below massive falls
Narrow rapids follow. Steep and bouldery. After 1km 1.5m drop on corner into small gorge.
Then hydro-station outfall adds flow.
Several bouldery drops
Then small horizon line is a 2m drop best run far right.
Get out to inspect 6m fall
Can be run centre (sporty line) or chicken shoots far left or right
Grade 2 1km to take out
Local issues
None known. Met landowner at take out- semmed friendly.

On way up- if motor museum rapid has water flowing over rocks on left-go for it!
